Orienteering 2:03:17 [3] *** 7.4 km (16:40 / km)
15c (injured) shoes: Cascadia Orienteering

Red at Hale with Presto. My legs weren't really feeling like running when I started, so the first couple of trail legs were super slow, and I was having a hard time convincing myself that running through blueberries was what I wanted to be doing. Eventually I got the kinks out though and had a really good time out there, although I never really felt like running through the blueberry, so mostly I didn't. Presto was having an awesome time! We saw a HUGE snake at control 7. I'm pretty sure it was a black racer, so not poisonous, but it still kind of freaked me out especially because I wasn't really sure what Presto was going to do about it. I told him no, and then he jumped back from sticks for the next couple of minutes, which amused me. I had a couple of moments of confusion but no major errors - mostly I just wasn't moving very quickly.

Stretching 1:00 [3]

After orienteering, I rushed to shower, change, eat (thanks SGB!), and get to my concert. Then I had to go into lab and by the time I finished with lab (twice - I forgot to do something in my haste to eat dinner the first time) and had dinner, it was late enough that I just wanted to go to bed. Anyway the point of this story is that I didn't do enough stretching today.

Running 1:04:59 [3] 5.4 mi (12:02 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Cascadia Orienteering

I had a rehearsal during the NEOC meet, so SGB, Presto, and I headed out to do the Blue Hills Skyline trail in the afternoon. We were planning on running the full thing, but traffic conspired against us and after spending 1.5 hours getting to the Blue Hills we didn't have time, so we just ran the part of the trail west of the road with quite a few detours. It actually worked out really well because it thundered the entire time we were driving, then stopped, and then started thundering again basically as soon as we got back to the car. Lots of fun to get out!

Stretching 5:00 [3]

Biking 20:00 [3] 5.0 mi (4:00 / mi)

To and from rehearsal. What a gorgeous day! (At least the morning :-).)

Running 29:52 [3] 3.7 mi (8:04 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Brooks Running 5

I couldn't get out of lab in time to get out to Cat Rock for the park-o, so I just went for a run with Presto. We had to stop back by lab in the middle for me to plate some cells. It had stopped raining and was basically perfect running weather! We saw lots of geese and flowers and just generally had a great time!

Stretching 5:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Running 28:55 [3] 3.1 mi (9:20 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Brooks Running 5

Easy, easy run with Presto to try to get the kinks out of my legs. They are feeling surprisingly good actually. My ankle is just REALLY tired, so my calf cramped up a bit, and my left hamstring down near my knee is kind of sore. I think my IT band actually feels better after the weekend, though, which is awesome. We saw lots of geese out with goslings, which was very cute, so Presto tried to chase the geese and the geese hissed at Presto. Presto was also on high rabbit alert, but we didn't see any rabbits. I spent the run smelling the flowers. Yay spring!

Stretching 5:00 [3]

Normal stretching and some calf massaging.
