Swimming 45 [3] 0.05 km (15:00 / km)

IM swim meet! Surprisingly enough I left lab later than I'd planned and didn't really have much time to warm up. I ran through the strokes and checked my strokes into the wall on backstroke, and then it was time to hop back out of the pool!

It became clear as the meet was starting that a couple of the women on our team failed to show up, so this meet became more of some sort of demented interval training than actual races as I proceeded to be put in every relay :-).

Also, we weren't using the timing pads, and they whisked away the times from the timers with great alacrity, so I didn't get to see any of my times. Oh well.

Swimming 30 [3] 0.05 km (10:00 / km)

First leg of the 200 Medley Relay! Backstroke isn't really my best stroke, but this felt nice and smooth, and I think I touched the wall in first :-). Good way to start the meet!

Swimming 30 [3] 0.05 km (10:00 / km)

I discovered upon finishing the relay that the 50 Butterfly was the next event, so after 2 minutes of rest, I was back up on the blocks! This felt pretty good!

Swimming 1:15 [3] 0.1 km (12:30 / km)

I actually got about 20 minutes between the 50 Fly and the 100 IM, which was a relief. The fly and back felt pretty good. I was holding on for the breaststroke and definitely feeling it for the free. Getting out of the pool was a bit of a challenge :-).

Swimming 30 [3] 0.05 km (10:00 / km)

First leg of the 200 Free Relay! Got my 2 minutes of rest and then it was back up for the relay. I was definitely starting to get tired, but I think I touched the wall in first or second :-).

Swimming 30 [3] 0.05 km (10:00 / km)

And then I was immediately back on the start block for the 200 Coed Free Relay. Ouch! I was feeling a bit shaky getting onto the block but I had a good start. The first length was fine but after the flip turn my arms informed me in no uncertain terms that they were done. I tried to turn on the legs, but they were strongly in favor of having more oxygen than I had any intention of giving them. It was a relief to make it to the wall! Then I sort of floundered out onto the pool deck like some sort of beached whale. Fun evening!
