Soooo hot out!
Started a little before my mom and she caught me on 3 because I was on the wrong ridge, then I caught her at 5. I followed her while keeping contact with my map to 6 and after I would alternate between going ahead on my own and following, we were going pretty slow at times because we were so exhausted from the heat.

Thought I'd be able to avoid the heat by going in the morning but there was no difference, especially because the track is in direct sunlight. It felt like 100 degrees at 7 am.
