Moderate walk with Louise on Skyline to Four Winds and back. Waited for the sun to come out after morning rain.

Lexington Reservoir. A chilly 47 degrees. With Louise and Michele, though I wound up running by myself for the majority of it. Was really dragging the whole way; stopped running at the beginning of the last hill (so not totally sure of the distance I ran). Didn't get enough sleep (another dizzy spell in the night) nor enough food in the morning, plus my legs were tired from yesterday. Plus, this run is 90% pavement, which I really don't like. I went to try to be in synch with Louise, but I don't think I'll run at Lexington again, and more importantly I need to listed to my body when it's telling me to rest rather than run.

Los Gatos Creek Trail. Cool, a bit overcast. With Louise. Easy run to middle of dam and back. Surprised it was as fast as it was. Jostling of running made my head feel a little dizzy at first, but that subsided. Early on, looked back for Ricky (who started just a bit after us) and that gave me a moment of dizziness.

The usual weekly accumulation of morning stretching.
12 PM

Strength exercises 1:00:00 [4]

Full sets of core, hips, theraband and weights. A good many pilates mat exercises, which I did with my upper back and head up off the floor to avoid vertigo - which had the side effect of working the abs even harder.

Earlier this morning, was able to lie on my back and do a few stretches, but when I turned me head to the side, WHAM (vertigo). So, decided it wasn't a good idea to go to the pilates class today.

Managed a decent night's sleep despite having to sit up every time I wanted to lie on my other side (the usual transition requires rolling on to my back, which at the moment brings on the vertigo). As part of my morning stretching, tried lying on my back, and I almost was able to do it without getting dizzy, an improvement from yesterday. On the other hand, I felt a bit woozy, like I had on Sunday. Coupled with the soreness behind my right knee (better but not good), decided it'd be better not to run today.

When Louise decided to go out for a short run, noticed I felt a bit better, so thought I'd give it a try. We had one false start: after a few steps, we both felt so bad, we stopped and wondered whether we should reconsider. But we started again, real slow, and I actually felt better than expected - knee didn't hurt once I got a little warmed up, and head was OK.

Full sets of core, theraband, hip and weights exercises. A bit of pilates mat, but can't do much because the vertigo is keeping me from laying flat on my back.

Haven't documented in a while what the exercises are, so here goes:

Core:
Hundreds (sort of like crunches): 100
Plank (on elbows): 2 minutes

Theraband:
pull-downs: 3x26 (dark blue, #2)
"punches": 3x24 (dark blue, #2)
horizontal arm rotations: 3x15 (light green, #3)

Hips:
clamshells: 3x15, each leg
scissors: 3x15, each leg

Weights, with 15 lb dumbbell, each arm:
military press: 3x26
curls: 3x28

5 PM

Walking 47:00 [2] 2.3 mi (20:26 / mi)
shoes: Kayano 19's

Moderate walk on Skyline with Louise, to Gist and back. Legs starting to feel better, but for some reason, I'm really sore behind my right knee, though I wasn't sore at all there yesterday and I haven't run since Saturday.
