Team Trails Sprint.

Great race, no real mistakes, lots of super fast running. Super fun running around campus - I really enjoy sprints :) Although I would miss the woods if I did them all the time. I slightly overran 1 in my excitement, but just made a sharp left to compensate. Only slight mistake would be going around the building on the way to 8 (not realizing that there were stairs in the tunnel - and I thought I was so clever!). But I only lost 4 seconds to the fastest time there, so not too bad of a choice. Yay for running fast, clean and powerful!

Setting out two controls for the Peter's Hill Park-o.

Peter's Hill Park-O. I don't know if I'm just more wimpy thatn everyone else, but the grass was killing me. I could withstand the pain for most of it, but by the time I was going to 13 it became unbearable. Just it whipping against my legs was drawing blood and today my knees are all raw.

Orienteering 12:41 intensity: (3:41 @1) + (9:00 @2) 0.92 mi (13:47 / mi) +34m 12:22 / mi

3 laps around Stoney Lea with 1 minute pickups

Note

I meant to do so much more than apply for one job. But translating the entire application process into English took awhile. I'm not ever sure what I just applied for. And maybe since it was all in Swedish they actually want someone who speaks Swedish...

road&trail run (threshold) 1:10:18 intensity: (35:07 @1) + (16:07 @2) + (19:04 @3) 7.67 mi (9:10 / mi) +136m 8:41 / mi

Went to Wilson Mountain with Dad and ran two laps of the loop at threshold. My HR is all wonky and was, again, no where near what I consider threshold. I got it up to 177 a few times going uphill, but it was hovering around 170, which is just super low. At the same time, I think I ran 2 PRs in a row for the loop - probably because I was pushing so hard trying to get my HR higher.

Putting out and picking up controls for my meet. Considering the last minute nature, it went well. I didn't get to check all of my control placements, and some of them were less than desirable in terms of greenbriar. And one control was hung on the wrong cliff, which was a bummer for those who were wandering through the greenbriar looking for it. My sincerest apologies. We also ran out of green maps, and didn't print any extra blank maps, so had to convert some orange and white maps to green. But again, people were super nice about it.

I did get 4 Mitchell School families to come! 2 current student families, one past family and one first grade family. They all enjoyed it immensely.
