ACT long champs, and long it was at 4km over the straight line distance - some on route choice and some on noodling around. Some good nav, plenty bad, particularly towards the end when I was tired, dehydrated and grumpy with dragging myself through blackberries and scrub and generally over it.

ACT middle - pine island

Fun-ish though I was useless, heading straight into the tricky stuff I couldn’t get my head into the mapping or scale, and flailed around at the first and fifth controls, despite going to the former via the latter. Fine but a bit sloppy though the easier stuff but generally struggling to read the map and figure things around along the river.

Tried to redo 1 a safer way but despite a clearer attack point still couldn’t make things fit. Got 5 a bit better but still not really in tune with the mapping.

Friday night BMMC run from the brewery, streets to Warrimoo and Spurwood down to cripple creek and back via sun valley. Groin a bit niggly after pushing to catch the group, so tried to keep the effort easy and it held up ok. Nice to get out with a group on the trails in the dark.
