Four Mile Circle - Local event Green course. There was still 6-8" of snow in the woods which made the normally docile Pine Barrens terrain much more physical. This was a good conditioning run (which I sorely need right now). My navigation was pretty clean except for 6 where I was a bit too far left after crossing the road and lost maybe a minute or so circling back to the control. A fun start to the season.

Fair Hill NRMA - Had to check a Blue/Red control I tweaked and of course it was probably the furthest one from a parking area. About 3" of snow in the fields and 6" or more still in the woods. On the return I flagged down a farmer to alert him that there was a breech in the dam around his pond beneath the outlet pipe. It flows into a small stream which all of my courses have to cross. I am having visions of it letting loose during the event. Canoe-O anyone?

The rain and fog gave people an excuse not to show I guess. We played 4 games of 3 on 3 and then called it a night. We were winning so lopsidedly that I resorted to serving left-handed.

Lunchtime run with Clay and Bob. Bob fell back early while Clay and I set a good pace. Good to get this in before the next ice storm.
