From my house to the road race venue and back.

York road runners winter series,race # 5.Goal was to average 6-6:15"min./mile pace.Splits:5:40" ;6:09" ; 6:15" ; 6:06" ; 5:58 ; 6:16" and 1:18" on the last 346 m.(uphill).good running weather,but some wind gusts time to time.Still have a lot of work to do for speed.

Finaly some fast skiing conditions,temp around freezing point,warming up slightly,track groomed pretty nice.On Piney Ridge Rd. Pine Grove Furnace State Park.

Did 6x1min.30 sec. high int. bursts durring my easy run.

This morning I ran by some nice fields in the industrial area,covered nicely with snow so I went back to try out to set a skiing loop while the snow last.It was a little tough with no tracks set.

Wednesday Mar 5, 2003 #

TEMPERATURE : 55*F,warm breeze,verry soft snow and dirty(from snow that was melting of tree lims over the tracks).The usual on Piney Ridge Rd.,snow cover still pretty deep.Hard work the whole way,poor gliding,waxed with CH 10(32to+50 F),picked up a lot of dirt by the time I finished.

Alternating,2 min. at 90-95%,folowed by 2 min. at 75-80%.The occassional road races are OK,but training on pavement sucks!Legs pretty stiff.
