walking 2:30:00 [1] 4.18 mi (35:53 / mi)
weight:19.4lbs shoes: Reebok Run Supreme 2.0 MT

I went down to the Stumble area a day early to visit friends in Falls Church (and stay with them overnight so I wouldn't need to get up at 4:30 AM). Bill went to work and Phil and I drove into DC and walked around to various monuments/memorials/landmarks (MLK, DC War, Lincoln, Constitution Gardens, some kind of hippie festival we discovered by the Washington Monument when I spied a giant inflatable igloo, the National Tree, White House, and WWII). Then drove to Texas Jack's BBQ which was awesome. Stayed up too late watching SNL.

They put one of those speed measuring signs on my street and it briefly registered 7 as I walked by. Considering going down there and sprinting at it to see what happens.

Too much sushi :( which was intended to be celebratory and instead became comfort food

After much waffling, signing up for short stumble. If I'm very slow, so be it.

At a local park that stays open until 10 year-round. It was kind of creepy in the dark, though. Saw two other people, both walking dogs.

Having sushi and beer now. Don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight.

DVOA Nolde Forest - Green

Misread 2 on map as a small formline knoll instead of a depression - so went in expecting to see it, ended up bouncing off trail on the other side before finding it. Extra deer fences in this area no help. Probably need to consider glasses for sports soon. Been doing ok without them but now having some small map issues.

Coming from 3, ended up above 4, thought it looked too far down and possibly was 5. Wasted a moment looking higher before going down to it and seeing that in fact it was 4. Doh.

Maybe not best approach to 12, going to trail/open area junction SW of it and following ditch in. A little thorny. Then ended up left on way to 13, didn't want to go down in thick thorny crap without being sure of where I was. So hesitation at vegetation boundary area. Actual location of control wasn't too bad veg-wise.

15, ended up left again but was looking right and saw the bag.

The rest of it okay, still not feeling energized.
