Orienteering race 18:24 [5] ***
15c shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR1, Sz 10.5

SART round 4, on the UW campus. Again, fun technical sprint-style race. Ankle still very sore so started slowly but caught the others as they made early mistakes, and kept moving and navigating well enough to finish 3rd of the heat. Happy with that in the circumstances, but failed to make the 11-15 run-off.

Orienteering race 20:52 [5]
shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR1, Sz 10.5

SART round 5, on the UW campus again. The 16-20 place run-off. 2.7 km. This was gaffled, in 3 loops. Ankle very sore again, so slow starting, but ran the first loop smoothly with Emma. Silly mistakes on each of the other two loops, though, so only 4th in the heat and 19th overall.

Note

Really enjoyed SART and good to see folks!

Orienteering race 6:57 [5] ***
13c shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR1, Sz 10.5

Seattle Adventure Running Tournament. Prologue at Gasworks Park to set up the seeding of the rest. A 1.3 km burn-up with some fiddly bits around the gasworks itself. 10th of 76.

Orienteering race 14:53 [5] ***
18c shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR1, Sz 10.5

SART round 1 at Woodland Park. The first of the 5-person head-to-head heats. A fairly easy course, a parky 2.7 km. Got a comfortable lead from half way so could coast the last few.

Orienteering race 16:14 [5] ***
12c shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR1, Sz 10.5

SART round 2 at Carceek Park. 1.9 km. Getting a bit more tired and competition getting tougher. A route choicey round, as the forest was OOB. Quite steep and struggled for speed early on, but just pipped Eric J at the end after he took some slower routes in the parky bit. Through to the last 20.

Orienteering race 20:49 [4] ***
19c shoes: Hoka Challenger ATR1, Sz 10.5

SART round 3 at Seattle Pacific University campus. Very fun technical sprint-style. Was neck and neck with Eric again at #9, but turned my ankle badly on a set of steps on the way to #10, so hobbled home and failed to make the last 10.
