To Terry Hills and back. Feeling quite tired and slow time, but also a glimmer of hope that I am getting a bit stronger on my bike.

Supposedly a sprint. At UNSW. Was wishing I had not gone as had other things to be doing. Course and map had potential but people need to learn that courses improve when you cut stuff out. There was a bit too much trickery and quite a few unnecessary legs. Most of my time loss was standing still trying to read the map and/or course.

Good to have new and young setter but we do need to take responsibility in giving them good guidance so it is a positive experience for all.

Run 25:00 [3] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Kayano - Fluoro

Run in 2 halves. Met Paula just after I started to ran back to her car with her, had a chat, then did a bit extra. Felt a lot less stiff on The second effort.

What a stupid day to pick to ride to work for the first time in 6 years. Should have cancelled but was too proud, having booked bike in for a service. Really should have cancelled as main reason for service was brake pads and lack of brakes made the whole wet, traffic riddled ride too nerve wracking for me. Definitely feeling old and fragile. Roads/paths full of debris too.

Bike got all the admiration it deserved when I arrived at the shop which made things slightly better. Unable to bring home tonight as the mechanic's eyes nearly popped out of his head when he realised he'd need to find an 8 speed cluster for me. That was a bonus for me, I might have built up a bit more resilience by tomorrow.
