Road biking 1:30:00 [1]

Kristoffer surprised me with a birthday mini-vacation down to Newport RI! We headed down after work on Friday for a delicious dinner, then Saturday rode around Ocean Drive and Bellevue 'ooohing' and 'aahing' at all of the mansions and grandious beach houses. This was an amazing ride in many ways. Not only was the scenery and weather fantastic, but after so many days of nothing but running, road biking felt so amazingly smooth, fast and powerful! (helped by the fact that the roads were dead flat!) mmmmmmmm! what a great feeling! :) Now if only running felt that way after, say, walking.. ?

Met up with DaddyO at the south end of Burnt Mtn and went for a nice jaunt through the woods (mostly on trails) swatting bugs and chatting about all sorts of things.
These woods really can be quite thick and nasty and who knows how many spiderwebs I took down. Many trails that have been made in the last few years by the mtb'ers (which is good, in my opinion!) but they need to be mapped!
Pulled off 5 ticks back at the parking lot. Ken had 11, 12? a lot.

Note
(rest day)

Rest day today, ankle is a bit sore from a stupid injury yesterday (driving a stick into it while running), but otherwise I think the cooldown jog around the sprint course was a great idea for the body. Thanks Boris!
Spent the afternoon inspecting the garden and planting some things I got at the nursery on our way home from the BG yesterday. A pretty bright indigo daisy and some little white flowers in a big pot out by the front walk and another white petunia in a smaller pot next to the big one.
Pretty.
I think..maybe.. that summer has finally arrived? :)
