Running 55:40 [4]

Daniels Rd loop. pretty awkward 1st 1/3, (I hate that feeling), smoking middle 1/3, dragging third 1/3. i pushed it on the hills, focusing on my power and trying to use my calf muscles a bit more than i usually do without hurting my stupid toe. Seemed to wrok pretty well until the last few hills where my legs just didn't have any more. I cruised down the last bit home, but only because it was downhill and I wanted to know how much faster i ran this loop this time versus last time. About 4 mins faster. not bad for feeling like a fat kid the past few weeks.

Note
(rest day)

mom came over to the house today to help me with some cleanup stuff, since I haven't done anything with thehouse in weeks due to studying, training, working, life and being away every weekend! Disaster!!
So we cleaned, adn then rearranged our kitchen! Its gorgeous. ok, not really gorgeous, but at least it's like having a whole new one, even though we only moved some furniture around. i love it.

Orienteering 1:45:00 [3]

Pawtuckaway! Helping my mom and dad out with setting and vetting some control locations for the training day May 16th. The first run was pretty slow, making sure that I was in the right place...you know how setting controls is..especially in here. Oh, also i spent some time clearing branches and crap off of that silly little trail on the island. beautifully sunny day and no bugs in the woods!! Loki was along too to keep all the deer away.. ;)

Orienteering 1:05:00 [3]

Vetting controls for the mtn bike section that my dad had set out. all good. Included running that singletrack trail, which i think is more enjoyable to run than to actually ride!!

Running 49:40 [3] 5.0 mi (9:56 / mi)

Decided to finally get out and do something. I had left work early because the power had shut down our servers in manchester (transformer basically blew up, shutting down all business on commercial st., and we're tied into our main office's servers for almost EVERYTHING. couldn't run internet, cad, word, anything with a common license, frustrating!)
So, i left to go do some research up at Grafton Co., then was home by 4:45! Sweet! Beautiful afternoon, I wanted to go for a road ride, but it was extremely windy, so Loki and I went for a run down the rail trail instead. Soft conditions, not wet really, but like running on a beach, loose sandy (coal dusty) dirt. Loki was a great mud-puppy by the time we got home.
Running was just ok for me, my blisters weren't painful, but just uncomfortable, decided I'm not doing 7Sisters on Sunday (sorry Joe.) and I felt really awkward, like I haven't been running in months. I hate that feeling. By the end of the run, i was movign better. I was practicing having a quicker leg turnover (I've heard that 90 strides per minute is ideal!? Seems really quick, and is that for EVERYONE? does it matter for those with longer or shorter legs?) anyway, i was playing around with that, not sure if quicker will make me faster, or just more tired! or not. who knows. ran the whole hill back up to Allagash, that was exhausting.
overall, eh, just ok.

Core strength 20:00 [1]

Decided to do some pilates/stretching/core stuff out on the deck. It wasn't sunny anymore, (rainy front blowing in) but still a nice warmish breeze to keep the ever increasing onslaught of giant blackflies away.

Note
(rest day)

Ended up going to the market - yes, market - and then making dinner while Kristoffer packed up the entire house to go to Vegas for the weekend. Didn't get a chance to do any sort of workout, but my feet weren't really up for it anyway.

Swimming 45:00 [2]

Easy morning swim. My blisters were preventing me from kicking barefoot, but I was able to use fins and so I did lots of kick laps and then lots of pulling. hopefully these stupid feet heal soon.
