Probably my best attempt at 'wheel' so far.
Took it slow into head stand, but stayed up for the full time.

Orienteering 45:43 [3] *** 5.4 km (8:28 / km)
spiked:12/16c shoes: Inov8 Trail ROC 245

Great sunshine an blues skies for NOY5 at Pelaw Main (Mining Mystery)
Was going to go back up to the 'Hard-Long' course as website suggested it would be 6.7km (figured I could last an hour at 10min /km) , but wussed back to 'Hard-Medium' when the 'long' was almost a km longer on the day.

First decided I'd try to run a bit more today, but then proceeded to lose 3 minutes in the first 5 controls for basic nav laziness.
On and off after that. Fastest split for 7 (of 16 controls), but counteracted by being nearer to the bottom of the table for 4 others.
Ended up 2nd place (of 21) on this course, but the same pace would have been about 8th (of 15) on the long. OK but very far from what I'm capable of when in reasonable form.

Need to see if I can find a way of getting some training runs in: need to be off road to avoid foot trouble, but this may also provide an excuse for nav training using old course maps etc.

Woke before 4am.
Early class it was then.
Edit: Noticed tugging in the fibres that run over the lateral malleolus whilst doing some wide stances.

Much better conditions and covered much more ground than the last day.
V Enjoyable

Note

Mild soreness in the soles of both heels after morning's efforts. Odd, but in a strange way re-assuring re 'injured' R foot.

Bike 25:00 [3]

to uni
Modifying my route so I could cross busy traffic on Maitland road lead to a very different route to uni, and lots of delays (compared to usual) from waiting at traffic lights and trying to avoid being run over by various 'hoons' and soccer-mums. Clearly a bad time of day to go anywhere on a bike!
7 PM

Bike 20:00 [4]

home from Uni several hours later than planned.
