Home from Redhead along Fernleigh Track
(after walking dogs on beach: Barbara drove home)

Two guys cruising in road bikes ahead of me when I got on the track. Slow enough for me to use a mark to work for. Good burn all the way to adamstown exit.
Eased my pace down after that.

University "Campus Scamper" 5k
Apparently an annual tradition since about 1960.

Time a guess (no watch), but came in 10th out of 80-100 (?)
The first 3 finishers all broke the course record (me wonders if course was short?)
There were about 3x as many students doing a 3k walk option
, which is a bit lazy really considering their age. Clearly only out to socialize and help gain points for some inter-house competition for those living on campus.

Slightly ashamed I'd not realised until today how beautiful the path beside the creek behind engineering is.

Also surprised that the only person I knew there was Massey, and I recognized the face of one 1st yr Architecture student among the crowd.

Edit: Apparently won the Staff category in the race: $50 book voucher woohoo!
Also, official time was 19:03, so almost definitely a short course
