Row 1:00:00 [3]

Nice evening. Wind calmed before another front came through at 20:30. Legs feel good but my right lat does not. Always something...

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]

Flying Pig Middle at Mounds
5.3km, 225m climb = 51:17

25 controls on the slopes of the big peninsula. I really did not want to make any errors on these slopes so I was careful with my nav. In the end, the only possible nav error is a round about route to C22; I got scared by some green but I think I should have been braver. Otherwise, it was fun to be focussed and navigating well. Even when there were others with me for a few legs I reminded myself not to get sucked into racing them and just keep navigating. Warming up my legs felt the best of all three days even in spite of 2 sore toes. However, the results I saw before leaving don't seem to indicate I was very fast relative to the field. Perplexing. I will be curious to see the split from C24 to the go control because I ran hard.

Orienteering 1:35:00 [3]

Flying Pig Long at Mounds and Garr Hill
8.3km, 350m = 1:16:13

Bloody day. Blood on my compass, through my o pants, on my arms, and a scratch on my lip. Took a wrong trail on the way to 6 and had to bush whack 300m through nasty rough open to get back to where I needed to be. Made a 30s booboo partly due to rushing and partly due to mismapped vegetation at 9. Otherwise, just kept grinding and even though I did not feel fast at all ended up with the 2nd fast time on the course behind j-man and ahead of an ill hammer. Conner Frost and I were close from C5-C11 and that probably pushed us both. In spite of the blood, I enjoyed the day, more fun stream crossings, and perfect running weather (40F and sunny).

Orienteering 1:05:00 [3]

Flying Pig Middle at Bear Creek
4.5km, 265m climb = 44:47

Wet but not raining, cold 45F, windy. Some major fun stream crossings that were quite chilly. It's been a while since I have been in up to my waste. Stiff currents added to the fun.

I lost about 1min due to a poor route choice on 8-9, about 1.5 min on a circuitious route to 2, and about 40 sec of hesitations on 19-20. That's not too bad. Otherwise, it was wet and slippery fun. My running speed felt just ok and sluggish on the climbs. Ended up with a good placing though.

Jammed my right big toe nice and hard, followed by a body slam to the ground. Now both big toes hurt, so I've got that going for me. Which is good.

Erg (RP3) 1:00:00 [3]

Too much wind for water rowing. TStorms and Tnados to the north.

National Lacrosse League: Vancouver beat Buffalo 12-8

Row 1:00:00 [3]

Fartlek row with max of 20 strokes of fart.

Ran over a fishing line and pulled the whole rod in the water. Boy was that fisherman mad. I helped him recover the rod and apologized. However, I am generally unapologetic. These guys think they are on the gulf coast trying to catch tuna or something; their poles keep getting bigger and they keep casting farther into the lake.
