Note

No tick related nasties in me but white BC count was low. Doc wants me to get rechecked in a couple of weeks. Could be a symptom of overtraining. Could be simply a response to a tiring weekend before the test. Who knows.

I think I will just try to take it easy until the team trials in the hope that I get back to normal.

Orienteering 2:24:00 [3]

Long day. I was actually happy that I finished in 2:0-something because I was afraid I was going to be 2:3-something. I'd had enough by C12; very tired.

Orienteering 1:56:00 [3]

Middle distance: some bobbles and one 6 min error on 9. Otherwise, just not moving very fast.

Sprint: Muffed 3, 5, 6 and 9. Can't get up even small hills.

On the bright side, two years ago a West Point I spent a good 30 min looking for a bag on the wrong mountain, and I MPed on the sprint. This year, I didn't do either of those things.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]

Got out for a short run on the Surebridge map before dark. Wet and cold.

Core 1 [3]

Morning core = abs and lower back exercises. When I don't do them I eventually experience back problems. I will log so that I remember to do them.

Evening core: 25 bridges, 50 crunches, 30 pushups, 30s bridge

Run 24:00 [3]

11 on the ugga-bugga scale.

Run 33:00 [3]

9848 simulated controls to go.

Sick of being sick. Ran easy. Very weird illness. No fever but I sometimes get the sweats. No cough or running nose but my skin is very sensitive and prickly; the latter is the most aggravating. No headache but my brain is stuck in first gear. At least the muscle aches went away.

Visited the doc. on Monday afternoon. Because I had found a tick attached to me the previous weekend, we went for the gamut of blood tests. No results yet though. Lyme is pretty rare in TX but there are other fun possibilities.

Also considered that it might be some weird reaction to poison ivy because there was a ton of it on Sat. in LA. But who knows.

Maybe it is just a weird virus. Whatever it is, I don't like it and wish it would go away -- I've got things to do.
