Orienteering 2:12:00 [3]

Team Trails. Long at Hawn State Park. 13.5km w/ 330Cm in 2:12:10.

Feeling better and I really wanted to run at Hawn. Big concern is dehydration. Plan to just run easy and not race. Some questionable micro-route choices and I drifted left on C18. Otherwise very clean. Fun to be spiking so many controls. Gu at C10 upset my stomache. Physically fading on C12-C13. Puking on way to C20.

Not the weekend I was hoping for physcially or technically. But the terrain and maps are so nice, I still had fun. It's so cheap to get to St. Louis from Dallas that I think I should plan a training weekend there sometime.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Team Trails. Middle Distance. 5.67km w/ 115 Cm in 46:26.

Woke up at 5 with an upset stomache. Uh-oh.

Nerves on C2 made me unsteady. Stopped at red control. Rushed out of C2 and proceeded way left. Took a moment at power line to figure out what was up.
Good on C5 until I exited trail sooner than I had planned (rushing again). Was too high and had trouble reading reentrants.
Rush C7 and missed looking in boulder field to right and one contour up.
C8-C11: running with Tom Hollowell.
C14: Started fading and fell of pack of Eric B, Ross S, and Tom.

Light headed and had the chills after. Spent the rest of the day and evening in bed watching movies. Couldn't eat. Sipping fluids. Puking.

Orienteering 45:00 [3] ***
17c

Having trouble concentrating at work (Monday, 22nd) so I might as well fill in my log....

US Team Trails. Sprint at UMSL. 2.6km w/ 75Cm in 15:30.

Lisa caught a bad stomache virus so she stayed home; disturbed sleep but got some extra on the plane. Legs felt better than expected but still not robust.
Poor route to 3: went through slash.
Poor route to 4: went right. Didn't see the easy trail approach on left.
Confused at 15: Chasing PG. Was looking for garden at base of wall. Only after see PG head up stairs did I figure it out.
Misdirection at finish: Aiming for gaggle of people at hill tip and had to vear back to finish boxes.
Overall, very happy with result. Very fun terrain and course.
