BrownX. Sloppy first two controls but then settled down. Felt like a real slog for the second half - just really tired. Tried to jog in a few places but it just wasn't happening. Another nice day in the woods.
Overall a pretty fun weekend. Nice woods and nice courses.
BrownX. Latish start; nice enough day as the predicted rain held off. Again, no real problems just sloppy in a few places and way off in one; corrected quickly but lost a good bit of time. Legs really tired making the downhills and ditch/gully/stream crossings hard.
Managed to lock the keys to the rental car in the trunk of the car with all the doors locked. As soon as I closed the trunk I knew what I had done but it was too late. And of course my phone and my wallet and everything else was in there too. Some very nice meet workers helped me call for assistance and AAA showed up a while later and got the front door unlocked where there was a trunk release lever and I found the keys exactly where I expected them to be. The AAA guy was really nice and took about 5 minutes to do his magic and it seemed he was happy for the call; perhaps he only gets paid when he does something. The meet workers were still cleaning up so I didn't hold anyone up but I felt bad for being such a numskull. It all worked out reasonably well but that sinking feeling when I realized what I'd done was not fun.
Very late start on the brown course. Took me 4 hours to get there (major accident on the interstate) from where I was staying in Birmingham and with the hour time difference I was lucky I made it in time. Decent effort but was somewhat sloppy. Didn't read a gully at one point (looked liked an index contour) and so I got confused when I hit it thinking I had reached a second one and then confused myself as to whether I was going to to #5 or #6. Took a few minutes to sort out. Then towards the end just totally lost focus and ran out of steam. But it was a beautiful day and I enjoyed myself. Even jogged a few bits in the middle.
