Bicycling (Rte 103) 1:03:04 [2] 14.35 mi (4:24 / mi) +158m 4:15 / mi

Already going crazy, so tried some one-armed biking. Challenging, but no worse than the one-armed carpentry this morning. Down towards Vt Country Store, but starting raining, so had to turn back before snacks.
3 PM

Road Running (Cummingxs Rd) 23:00 [1] 2.1 mi (10:57 / mi)

Then off for an easy run to see how that felt. Rain quit before it really started, just a sprinkle. Kind of ponderous with the extra weight on my arm. Will try the track this week to see what serious pacing can do.

Note

Woke up after crappy semi-sleep to more swelling and really hurtin' when I tried to move it. Okay, so bag the rogaine - dang! - and head for the ER back home. In and out of there in an hour, with a dozen X-rays and only an ace bandage to show for it. Good news, only a sprain and bruise, and can start exercising as soon as the swelling and pain go away.

Home for lunch. Phone call from doc: radiologist (working on her computer at home, because she's 8 months pregnant) called in. Said there was something funky about the little wrist bones and looks fractured. So back for serious immobilization this time. No arm wrestling for a while.

Roller skiing (Rte 103) 30:00 [2] 2.65 mi (11:19 / mi)

Plan was for easy ski on a beautiful day before the 24 hr regaine tomorrow. Installed new bearings on one of the wheels and glued the pole tips on at last.

Nice loose run down 103 for a couple miles, and apparently the double nuts worked off the axle shaft. A little dragging noise for a couple hundred meters, and then I see the front wheel of my right ski go sailing across the road. Oh shit! Then the frame digs into the asphalt and down I go.

Started walking back and found the axle bolt 200 m back. Amazing the wheel had stayed on that long with no axle. Stuck it back in and gingerly double poled back to the car. Never did spot the nuts.

Stopped on the way home and got a nyloc self-locking nut and some loctite to secure the sucker. Hardware clerk commented on the fresh blood on my knee, but doesn't hurt nearly as much as the R wrist, which seems sprained.

Biked to pick up car. Benny's via Springfield, Rte 5 to BF and back 103 to Chester. Very few trucks due to bridge construction in town. Stopped by Vt CS for snack buffet. Felt good today.

Trail Running warm up/down 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)

To start.
10 AM

O - competition race 1:09:16 [4] 4.97 km (13:56 / km) +88m 12:48 / km

Felt pretty good for the first half, then some serious mistakes in the middle of the course. Was able to efficiently relocate, but shouldn't have lost track of position in the first place.

Hamstring felt fine, including a near-blistering finish split.
