Running 15:00 [3]
warm-up, cool down then off the Chateau Montebello for a huge meal and much needed family vacation. :)
Adventure Racing taught me something...(well when our team was mega sponsored anyways)... You can race and enjoy luxury together.
Orienteering 35:00 [5]
NCOF Middle. First orienteering race since 2006 COC middle distance. Knee only hurt on the downhills. Was able to keep running except on bigger climbs. Started to get tired around #10 or so (yeah at about 16-18 mintues, ouch). I felt a little rusty with little 5-10s bobbles and lotsa hestitation - but kept a sure (but what seemed slow) and steady pace and ended up with a surprising result. Longest time running without stopping since the operation so that is promising but a little scarey too since I worry I'm causing more damage to the knee. But I had a good time and my time was good too. Most importantly it was great to catch up with a great group of friends.
Orienteering race 15:00 [5]
NCOF sprint. Well this was the kind of feel good race. I felt like crap on every hill and was suckin' air by the time I got to #1. Feel good race in that it is good to know that all those years training were worthwhile. I think I really would have enjoyed this course if I was fit. Awesome awesome run by MrPither. Watched him moving what seemed effortlessly as I walked up one of the many hills.
Thanks to Robbie A. for some good courses.
