Orienteering race (Scottish day 6) 57:09 [4] ***** 4.6 km (12:25 / km)
(sick) shoes: vj's
Anagach.
Fantastic terrain - best of the week (well, toss up with Culbin, anyway), but not the right frame of mind - had to drop the car back to Inverness last night, and clear out of the cottage this morning while Stodge camped out at the main campsite seeing as there was only the one car now.
Wanted the clean run, but a small wobble at 2, and once the difficult navigation stopped I stopped concentrating and turned into a muppet for the easiest leg on the course. Distracted by other controls (that one way over there looks like it could be in a clearing), tapes (they must be there for a reason, maybe it's important, I'd better go & see) and people (lots of them over there, maybe they are at my control), when I was still waaaay to short with a path to cross, still!
5 days of the 6 run, it's been fun, but a multi-day as a single parent is not easy!
Map to follow.
Orienteering 35:31 [3] 2.3 km (15:27 / km)
(sick)
Straight down the run in, download, collect Holly & off to the start before it closes to do the white. Only they've run out of maps, so it was the yellow.
Another 9km day!
It's good for me (?!), & Hol has loved the O this week - one string course, four whites and a yellow.
Mull & Colonsay, here we come...
