Red course at GAOC a meet. One boom and a general feeling of moving a bit slowly. But I was also moving reasonably well through the thicker areas. I never figured out the ditches. But I figured out that I couldn't figure out the ditches early in the course.
I had some laundry and packing to do when I got home so I didn't go for a run. But for inspiration I watched the first episode of "Sirkus Northug" while I folded laundry.
"MTBO batong" to see what it was like and if it felt like a reasonable way to practice. I set up a route in one of the parking lots on West Campus. I have to say that it is a good way to spend a half an hour circling around a parking lot in the dark.
It would be more interesting with a slightly different course (maybe with short and long loops) and with terrain that was a bit rough. I'll have to give some thought to where I can find a better place for it. Too bad they've paved all of the old gravel parking lots around campus.
Work commute. 7F for the trip to work. That's pretty cold (I think the coldest I've biked in before was 6F) but my new mits from Mary kept my hands comfy.
