I did a 3200m time trial on the track.

It was somewhat painful (as I probably should have remembered) and a bit slower than my PR time, but around the time I figured it would be now.

This is the first time I've run a 3200 hard without Natalie, but I tried to imagine she was racing along ahead and I had to catch her :-). It helps for me to think I'm chasing someone.

I chose a short section of the hill between a gravel road and a tree with white flowers that overhangs the sidewalk (the whole hill is probably a mile long).

I jogged the downhills. Maybe next time I should choose a longer distance.

Ran a loop and a half around the eastern dorms and then off through the woods, then through the community center to the bikepath, along it to the road. At this point, decided to run back along the bikepath and the woods the way I'd come rather than finish the loop along the road.

I ran until about halfway through the woods on the way back and then walked the second half of the trails.

I stopped the time once while waiting for cars to pass at the park entrance.

Ping-pong in the union with Jana, Josh, & Zach. Jana and Josh kept hitting the ball in the corners, so there was a lot of fun sprinting back and forth. I think I'm getting a blister from playing barefoot, though.

I'm going to try doing track workouts more often. Still not sure if I have the workout plan exactly right, though. It seemed short to me, but that might be because Ted had really long workouts that always rolled over the end of practice by ~20 minutes. I like the shorter length :-).

Outdoor Sports was inside today due to the harsh weather conditions (~60 degrees and drizzly ;-)). We played frisbee instead of football! It was fun.

Note

A lot of walking to & from the animal shelter, but I won't log it. It was amusing to see the basketball craze starting...jerseys propped up outside of houses and blue-and-white flags everywhere, extra security...apparently Amelia is going to disown me if I don't watch the game, so maybe I'll watch part of it ;-).

There's wisteria blooming everywhere.

Tomorrow Mallory and I are planning to do a track workout. It's been awhile since I've done one of these...my thoughts are:

3x 1200 ~4:50
4x 800 ~3:05
4x 400 ~85

And if this is really long or really short, I'll adjust.

There was going to be a local Sprint here today, but it was canceled...because the trails were muddy! I guess it's a park rule, but it's a little weird since it's around 80 today.

I went for a run instead, through Battle Park (about 1.5 miles, and then along the bike path that almost connects to the park (about 1.8 miles). I had been planning to run all the way along to the grocery store from there, but it was too hot out and so I stopped instead where the bikepath met the road.
