Orienteering race 49:52 [5]
spiked:14/21c shoes: OROC 340 12.5s

Fun, fast course. Brutal hill climb from the go control.

I had a good run today. One of my best a-meet performances to date (Outside of a sprint). See split comments. Finished 6th in m50, 13th overall on the course. . If the first half was as good as the second half, I might have finish with a medal. Gives me some hope.

Bman had a tough day. But 2 2nd place finishes is a good weekend.

From the cabin to the start. Thought I was cutting my start time close, leaving cabin at 11:22 for an 11:36 start. But my actual start was 11:14. There was a Green opening at 11:37 so it worked out ok. But perhaps all the rushing to get to the start affected my mental focus?

Greent M-50 1:10k 5m
6.9k red line

Challenging course in a beautiful park.

Not a good day for me. Wasn't focusing on fundamentals and made 2 big errors. See comments on splits. After the first big error I really didn't push that hard, but seemed to be moving well despite the veg. My 90 min target was very doable and would have put me pretty far up the list.

I thought the course was set very well but I did not like the 5 - 6 leg. Way too much green even on the best route. But that said, there weren't many good options for getting over to that side of the map.

The mapping was first rate.

Bman took second on M-16 today.

M50 Green 2.9 k red line I think (but not possible to run red line)

Fun course requiring tons of map reading.
Rough run but good enough for 5th place.
Lots of 10-15 sec hesitation and route choice errors. 1 big mistake about 2 min. Red line from 10 to 11 covered an unpassable wall in a deadend that was an obvious route choice.

Cold. 37f with wind. Snowing at the end.

Bman took 2nd on M-18.
