Note
(rest day)

Bank Holiday pottering (and DB panicking).

Orienteering 2:52:00 [1] 13.05 mi (13:11 / mi)

Testing out Charlie's courses for the Long Mynd which are taking place next week. These showed off the best bit of the hills and really enjoyed myself. Deliberately took tough routes early on and just managed to keep pace with Clare (who was running round).

Note
(rest day)

Hanging out and map geeking at Clare's parents.

Running 4:48:00 [0] 12.63 mi (22:48 / mi)

Exploring the Black Mountains with Clare. From Dan-Yr-Ogof, Bannau Sir Gaer, Fan Bricheiniog, and down Fan Hir.

Nice route and got some great views (especially off Fan Bricheiniog). Surprised not to get too frustrated with the walk (must have been the company). Had some fun guessing whether this is where the DB will go in a couple of week's time.

Nice pub lunch to finish.

Running 2:02:00 [1] 10.22 mi (11:56 / mi)

Run with Clare in Dartmoor. Lucky with the weather; and picked a nice route. Kept it nice and steady.

Running 30:00 [1] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Easy lunchtime run. Not feeling too bad from yesterday's efforts - just a deep lethargy which was not helped by the (really stupid - mine I might add) of nipping into Padstow.

Day was saved by a great meal in the evening.

Running 5:48:00 [2] 30.0 mi (11:36 / mi)

Loong run as part of my inverse taper for the Dragon's back. Started in Newquay and followed the footpath all the way to Gwithian. Gorgeous sunny day - lots of people out in the hotspots but still had lots of the coast all to myself. Kept the pace very steady on the undulating route (aiming to keep it just below 12 minute milling) and felt "tired" rather than "detonated" at the end. Was buoyed to see Clare with a mile and a half to go. Kept eating every 20 minutes and drank every 30 - 40 minutes (drunk just under 3 litres in total).
