Running 3:10:00 [3] 13.0 mi (14:37 / mi)

Only managed 13 miles in the 3 hours that I was playing in the hills on the LAMM map but I did lots of up and down which was the plan. Good fun. Missed Clare and Heather's finish after their great run for 24th.

Note

Climbing and scrambling with Dan and Shane (6 hours). Great fun.
6 AM

Running 1:08:00 intensity: (38:00 @2) + (30:00 @4) 8.3 mi (8:12 / mi)

Early morning session before a day climbing with Shane and Dan. Ran along a path up the valley from the LAMM campsite. After a 15 minute warm up did 30 minutes of fartlek and a 20 minute warm down.

By the time I had finished the campsite was pretty deserted.

Squeezed in 5 miles before a half day at work and a long drive to Scotland.

Thursday Jun 7, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 42:00 [2] 5.4 mi (7:47 / mi)

Easy morning leg spinner.
6 PM

Running 40:00 [2] 5.3 mi (7:33 / mi)

Run home from work, threw in 5 x 10s hill sprints.

Wednesday Jun 6, 2012 #

6 AM

Running 40:00 [1] 5.3 mi (7:33 / mi)

Easy run out to Beeley and back.
6 PM

Running 30:34 [5] 5.08 mi (6:01 / mi)

Calver Fell race. Good blow out - pushed along by Carl Bell who is holidaying in the peaks. Kept the lead the whole way round but was running scared - felt good on the climbs and tried to push on the descents (but Carl was much faster). Most pleasing was that I was 45 seconds faster than last year.

Running 32:00 [1] 2.5 mi (12:48 / mi)

Warm up and down.

Running 2:50:00 [2] 20.0 mi (8:30 / mi)

Great run with Mike. He took me round the (now perfected) Round Sheffield route. Lots of ups and downs and I was finding it tough after yesterday. Don't feel that anyone who likes running could fail to like the route - great views and loads of little parks to explore.

Orienteering 38:38 [3] 5.53 mi (6:59 / mi)

York sprint race. Great course from Steve W today and got caught out a few times to start with. Got better as the course went on (although it was easier later on) and enjoyed myself. Really enjoyed myself - as I do every year.

Good running from Clare to secure a victory (a Baker double!).
10 AM

Running warm up/down 45:00 [2] 5.6 mi (8:02 / mi)

Warm up and down. Legs took a long time to get going.
