Running race 1:09:29 [5] 13.1 mi (5:18 / mi)

Chester Half Marathon. Whilst I would have liked to have been in Gothenburg, Chester was the next best place for a half marathon. Put this in the calendar as it was mentioned as a potential indicator of fitness for selection for the World Long DIstance champs.

Started steady and was running by myself for the first 5 miles. Caught the lead back and we stayed together till 7 miles when a runner went off the front. I kept my pace steady but picked him off on a sharp incline. From 8 miles on I was just trying to keep it all together and not tie up.

It was amazing to finish in the town centre in the lead - lots of crowd support and requests for high 5s.

Lots of razzmatazz afterwards...amazing day.
