Running 48:00 [1] 6.2 mi (7:45 / mi)

Feeling very tired today so binned plans of a long run. Went for a 6 mile shuffle instead. Legs not too bad but feeling wiped.

Running 1:10:43 [5] 8.27 mi (8:33 / mi) +1060m 6:07 / mi

Coledale Horseshoe: 2nd English and 1st British champs race of the season. 6th place.

Wanted to commit to running hard today and see where it got me. I have deliberately taken it easy all week to try and got on the start line feeling rested.

I stuck in behind a group with Lloyd going up Kinn and then pushed on with Jethro to Sleet How. Was on my own up the last bit of Grizedale Pike (in 4th or 5th) which was a struggle/scramble. Always difficult to gauge how hard to push on the really steep hills, the best guys seem to continue to run up but I struggle to do this and find a fast march ok.

A group formed on the scramble on Eel Crag and had to work hard to keep up with Ben and Lloyd. Was 8th at this point.

Managed to pick off a few people on the descent to towards Stile End, but feel got a real beating on the stony path. Was running in Ben's shadow at this point and stayed behind all the way to the end. Kept trying to push on as I was scared of the fast descenders behind me.

Really chuffed to finish 6th and feel it is a step up from Lad's leap. Hoping I can carry this form through to the Three peaks.

Solid team performance from the DPers for second place behind Borrowdale. Not seen the final results but it must have been close.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Easy warm up - going up barrow. Short and weary warm down with OJ and Tim Davis.

Running 48:00 [2] 6.2 mi (7:45 / mi)

Easy run with Andy. Good to catch up; though I don't think either of us were feeling the "running love." My legs were achey and Andy's knee was not perfect. Lovely crisp morning.

Running 18:00 [1] 2.2 mi (8:11 / mi)

Short (but steep) run to work.
5 PM

Running 1:04:35 intensity: (55:35 @2) + (9:00 @5) 8.02 mi (8:03 / mi) +319m 7:10 / mi

Run from work to top of coppice track. Stashed my bag and then did 2 x uphill reps hard with a jog recovery. Did reps in 4:27 and 4:30. The second was into a hail storm which was not nice. Rain / hail did not let up for the run home and I was freezing by the time I got in. Took about 1 hour to warm up again. Brrr.

Run to work; legs not feeling too bad.
5 PM

Running 42:00 [2] 6.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

Run home, via coppice track and rivelin valley. Slippy in my road shoes along the valley.

Orienteering race 38:00 [4] 4.0 mi (9:30 / mi)

Relay. Team got off to a great start from Aiden and we had a solid leg from Alex. Again I was not on top of my running or orienteering but got round ok. Just managed to hold off Speakey at the end (although I was oblivious to his late charge).

Running 25:00 [1] 2.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Warm up and down.
