Running warm up/down 1:50:00 [3] 12.5 mi (8:48 / mi)

20 minute warm up getting into the map and then a long warm down running laps round the area. Lovely morning for it but I was tired by the end.
11 AM

Orienteering race 32:46 [5] 4.67 mi (7:01 / mi)

BOC middle. The aim was to orienteer smoothly and let the running take care of itself. Started well but made a couple of consecutive misses around 5/6 (after the first fence crossing) where I ran too aggressively into the circle without really knowing where I was.

Relaxed a bit for the next 1/3 and was orienteering well. Really excited after the radio control and really tried to push on in the way to the spectator loop.

Overall pleased with run and enjoyed the orienteering - intense and fun. Would not have enjoyed it as much if it was any wetter.

Lots of warming up and down after the various races. Did an extra long warm up with Alex before the B final to try and wake my legs up and get in the mood.

Orienteering race 14:30 [5]

Qualifier. I would be lying if I was to say that I was not up for this. However, adrenaline got the better of me at the start with a bit of a wobble on the way to number 1. Started to flow a bit better after this, until I caught up Rich Guillame and tried to race him rather than work out what I was doing. Stupid. And I know better. I made a big miss at 19? where I did not execute my plan properly and lost 40 seconds. Game over. Pushed on to the end but I was way down.

Full of "orienteering rage/frustration" at the finish; made mistake which were totally avoidable.

Orienteering race 13:30 [5]

B Final. Really enjoyed this but again I was not quick enough in my thinking. Lots of small misses and a couple of big wobbles. All of which resulted in me (deservedly) being well down the results.

You would have got good odds in respect of predicting the top 3. Great run from Chris but also a shame that OJ missed out on the elusive title. A good day of racing.

Plan was to do 10 miles but felt really tired today so decided to take a cheeky rest day.

Running 1:15:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (15:00 @5) 9.0 mi (8:20 / mi)

Run from work to the SYO garage (pick up a compass that a competitor had left behind from our event). Spent about 10 minutes looking for it and then ran over to Ponderosa to do some sprint intervals. It was pretty dark at this stage so ended up doing streetlamp-ervals - working out the route map from the light and then running to legs map memory. Worked pretty well.

Dropped car off at garage (exhaust gone again) and then ran back home and up loxley. Legs feeling pretty good.

Running 1:15:00 [2] 10.2 mi (7:21 / mi)

Longer run home with OJ after a busy day. Good to have some company and enjoyed having a natter. Didn't feel brilliant in myself for the first part as I a bit of an energy dip. Our pace picked up a bit when we started chasing done another runner along Sandygate road. Tired by the end.

Kenyan hills up the coppice track. Still feeling the effects of Saturday (and had a long day at work) so the aim was not to kill myself. Whilst I felt sluggish on the way out (and I got overtaken by a "jogger") I perked up when starting the session in earnest. Did the ups between 4.55 and 5.01 and the downhills between 3.52 and 4.01.

The "big bad doms" had arrived. Slow jog up Rivelin. Swallowed my body weight in small flies. Lovely evening though and loads of runners out. Bumped into Ben and glad he is back running.
