Introduced a colleague and his family from work to orienteering in Roundhay. I had committed to go but was not feeling too grand. Showed them whats what and then shadowed Andy and his friend around the Green course. Everyone enjoyed themselves and did pretty well - the family were 3rd on the White course (although annoyingly they are down as non competitive on the results!).

Easy morning fitness test with Andy. I failed. Feeling a bit rubbish and spacey. I knew this already but it made the decision not to run the Nationals that much easier.

Started coughing last night and nose started to run. Feeling ok this morning but definately have a head cold of sorts. Nationals are 50:50 at this stage - would/will be gutted not to run but more gutted to run and then be out of action for a couple of weeks particularly as it seems quite a nasty bug. Clare has bypassed the headcold and gone straight to a cough.

Bit of a no brainer of a rest day. Got in at 3:30 and was up at 7.30. Trying to convince myself I have not caught Nails' cold. Jury still out, but at least I managed to round off the training camp. Really tough for Neil that he got ill half way through the week.

POM 4. Chasing start but I ran it mainly on my own. Very spikey terrain and I struggled to keep my motivations up. Think I enjoyed it.

POM Day 3 - WRE. Got cocky after yesterday's run and it turns out that I have not become an orienteering superstar overnight. Lots of misses but really enjoyed myself - even getting lost was fun.
