Not sure how Mike roped me into driving him to Paul's in the morning. But having dropped him off I thought it would be rude not partake in their 3 hour run. Amazing how talking crap makes times fly - 4 laps up and down porter valley (Paul was on a long leash) went in no time. I seemed to be suffering the most by the end, despite having run less miles (Paul) and less miles and sessions (Mike) than both of them. Good session nonetheless.

Working from home so decided to get out at lunch time and make use of the quieter roads and daylight.
Feeling a bit brighter today (and HRV agreed) so attempted Thursday's session today which was 12 miles at marathon pace. Being uncreative I decided to run up Rivelin Valley road 4 times. I didn't want to be too preoccupied with pace and focus more on effort. At the first turn around point I way off pace, but not too bothered. The way back was much faster though so was back on track in terms of pace. So all in the session went as planned and to pace - which was pleasing. Inspired by Pat-hetic I listened to Daft Punk's Alive, that was until my ipod died. Great album.
Could feel my right foot but easing off relative to Monday and Tuesday.
Just reread my training post - for someone not bothered by pace I mentioned it enough, but I only looked at my watch 4 times (turn around points) honest.
Run up and around Damflask and then on to work. Glad I have found this route as it is a great run first thing. Nice having all the reservoir to yourself. Was accompanied by a podcast of Graham Obree. Really interesting - he was a total maverick, but what he was saying in respect of believing in himself, focusing on process rather than outcome and positive imagery (and flogging himself to within an inch of his life) comes straight out of a sports psychology textbook. Reminded me a lot of the comments from Charlie Spedding's autobiography.
Bumped into Dr Thake on his bike to work. That is two run-ins with doctors on bikes in as many weeks.

Run to gym and then home. Did not do drills as wanted to give (right) foot a rest. It had been sore at drills on Monday and really sore on the morning's run. Pain across top of foot (tib post?) - think linked to a tight tendon by my ankle.

S+C at gym for 35 minutes. Squeezed a lot in and was pleased with some progress in my glute exercises.

Run to track with OJ. Slightly pimped Paul's way to track. Think it is optimal now.
Track 8 x 800m. Felt pretty good tonight (ie managed to keep up with Tom). Did them all between 2.21 and 2.25 (average about 2.23). Good to start them in a group.
