Easy morning leg spin.

So that was tough. Went off on first leg for the team. Felt good for the first 5 minutes or so (in about 6th place) but then the teams in front slowly went away from me and then the teams behind started to catch up......

Managed to get lactic in my calfs and quads (a first for me) and then started dry heaving. Basically felt like a sack of spuds. The decent was not much better but at least the lactic acid dissipated.

Luckily I had 2 international runners in the team and they pulled us up to 5th place. This was quids in - 70 Euros each.

The event itself was amazing though - the whole town got behind the race and all the runners got fantastic support. A great experience.

Checking out the route of the relay race tomorrow. The run is from Morbegno (quintessential Italian mountain town) Very steep (435m climb in 7.5k) and technical but looks like really good fun. Lots of tracks and back yards to run up and down with a few jumps for the spectators. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTThjCH285E&feature...
