Running 12:00 [1] 1.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

Easy run from the B&B in Lancaster.
12 PM

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Warming up and down for the fell race. Mostly with Phil W who gave me the tour of the area.

Running race 50:00 [5] 12.0 km (4:10 / km)

McCain fell race 2 - Keswick. Massive field of 17 runners. Up Latrigg and then 3 laps round the top and back down. Route here: http://www.cumbriacommonwealthchampionships.org/co...

Went ok and I finished 8th with the first 4 probably all picked for European Champs. Still learning how to pace myself in these races and finished feeling I had more to give but struggled to get into a decent pace on the course which was constantly up or down. Overall I was pleased.

I was also chuffed to learn in the week that I have been picked to run for England in the Snowdon mountain race in August. This will give me something to focus on.

Time is an estimate - I have not seen the results yet.

Running 24:00 [1] 3.5 mi (6:51 / mi)

Easy run round loxley then up to Robin Hood. Stopping at Myers Grove for some drills and then home again.

Running drills 15:00 [3] 0.5 mi (29:59 / mi)

Some drills at Myers Grove then a run round the grass track, striding straights and coasting the bends. Couldn't work out how long the track was - from far away it looked like 400m but when I ran round it was more like 200. Weird.

Running 23:00 [1] 3.8 mi (6:03 / mi)

Woke up with a bit of tickly throat - so far I have managed to fight off Clare's cold but certainly felt on the brink. Decided to take it easy and have an immune system boosting easy run.

Easy run to work.
5 PM

Running 17:30 [5] 3.49 mi (5:01 / mi) +20m 4:56 / mi
ahr:163 max:247

HH intervals at Hillsborough park. Didn't kill myself put they were all fair efforts. 2 x (3 separate efforts) with about 1.45 recovery. Good to do some faster paced stuff.

Running warm up/down 42:00 [2] 5.75 mi (7:18 / mi)

Run to HH and then home again. Got raced on the way down by a random runner. He came past me and I just sat behind him waiting for him to pop - he didn't and we were running at 6 min miling along langsett road so a fair effort!

Running 1:46:00 [3] 15.5 mi (6:50 / mi)

Run from work out to Oughtibridge and then up
to Worrall, Bradfield and then down the back of Damflask and home. Hot out and didn't drink enough before hand. Hills
were tough but felt better having finished.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Orienteering 31:00 [5] 4.5 mi (6:53 / mi)

York Sprint O. Good fun and tricky course. It is fab how they keep finding new bits of the city to use and this year was no exception; a new college was opened up which made the course feel a little more like a sprint with some tricksy controls. Well they were too tricksy for me and I made two big mistakes (1.10 and 1.35) and it was game over. Good runs by Wardy, Nixon and Catmur though. Legs felt good running....ahh tarmac.
6 PM

Running 45:00 [2] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Evening run up to Fisheries and then up to Dungworth. Threw in some bounds up the hills and some fastish stuff on the downhills.
