Running 1:58:00 [3] 12.0 mi (9:50 / mi)

Another toughie long run with Scott, Jason and Andy H. From Dam Flask, Agden, Dales Dyke to the Folly (knee deep), Sugworth Hall to Moscar Lodge, then along the road to Rod Moor and then on roads back to Damflask. We were supposed to run through Rod Moor but it was literally waist height snow (due to drifting). Lots of spin drift making it particularly unpleasant in places.Proof that students are toughening up (or just stupid) Andy Heyes turned up for the run in trainers, longsleeve top and shorts (no gloves or hat).

4.30 hours running over 2 days and I only managed 24 miles.

Note

Turns out I am not the world's worst runner in snow. That title can be claimed by Jason Ward (or should it be Bekele?). Jason claims it is because he does not have a high enough natural knee lift. Sounds like a good excuse, which I will also claim. Glad that it is clearly nothing to do with being soft.

Running 2:30:00 [3] 19.2 km (7:49 / km)

Run from Edale with Pete, OJ, Camel and Nails. Amazing day. Lots of snow and struggling from the off. It appears that deep snow is my running nemesis and really had to work hard along Kinder Edge to Win Hill. Run to Hathersage was tough and evryone was pretty pooped but hungry by the time we got to Little Johns. Our efforts were rewarded by being served ahead of the other group who got in half hour before us!

Running 15:00 [2] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Run to gym and back.

Running drills 15:00 [3] 0.5 mi (29:59 / mi)

"Camp Candy" TM drills. Still a bit rubbish and stiff.

S+C 35:00 [3]

Standard session.

Running 24:00 [3] 3.25 mi (7:23 / mi)

Run to work.

Running 1:15:00 [3] 7.85 mi (9:33 / mi)

Run home from work. Bit of an adventure. Didn't have a torch and risked that it would be ok running off road the whole way. Ran up the parks, up Crimicar road and then over the golf course. The golf couse was awesome - no one around and calf deep snow. Then ran along the valley and popped out the cemetary. Great fun.

Running 24:00 [2] 3.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Run to work

Running intervals 55:00 intensity: (25:00 @2) + (30:00 @4) 7.0 mi (7:51 / mi)

Run to the parks then intervals in the snow up and down hills. 5 x 5.00 (with 1 minute recovery) made all the more harder because I was wearing an anologue watch. Fun in the snow but tiring

Running 18:00 [2] 2.4 mi (7:30 / mi)

Running 16:00 [2] 2.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Run to the gym in the cold.

S+C 30:00 [3]

Truncated gym session. Gym was deserted for once so whipped through a session. Not too stiff from last night.

Running 1:30:00 [2] 16.0 km (5:38 / km)

Run to pick OJ, JJ and then the missus. Went up Rivelin to explore the snow. It was stunning - christmas card pretty. Stopped for a few snow ball fights and met up with Mike Wainwright. Good fun.

Running 20:00 intensity: (15:00 @3) + (5:00 @4) 3.25 mi (6:09 / mi)

Run to EIS - much speedier than I intended because I was running a bit late.

Running drills 1:00:00 [3] 2.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Camp Candy - lots of fun drills and stuff. Learnt a lot from KC and her beautiful assistant. Everyone seemed to have fun but the sprint time trial at the end was murder - respect to the sprinters.

Running 40:00 [2] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Run to work - steady.
