Orienteering race 1:32:00 [5] 11.0 mi (8:22 / mi)

Long race. Really up for this but it just didn't happen. Felt a bit battered and bruised when I woke up but a few little jogs and stretches seemed to do the trick to wake me up a bit.

Felt strong physically but technically just kept making misses - the controls that jumped out at me on the previous 2 days just seemed to be hidden away. Part of this was the terrain and part of it was being mentally tired I think.

Overall pleased with the weekend, but a WOC place was totally achievable -- the closest I have probably ever come.

Orienteering race 42:00 [5] 5.0 mi (8:24 / mi)

Middle. Slight miss on one - spotted where I thought the control was but bottled it and checked out a hill to my right.

Caught sight of Duncan (2 minute man) on a hill near the end. Pushed to catch him but in my excitement made 2 mistakes and blew a top 4 (maybe 3) finish.

Good fun course.

Orienteering 16:00 [3] 3.0 mi (5:20 / mi)

Sprint. Missed 1st and 2nd controls but flowed nicely through the tricky control pick. Missed again at 10 but pushed on through the controls on the big hill. Racing the last 1/3 against Duncan.

3rd place - solid result but really surprised as it was a far from perfect race.

Run to Hillsborough and then home again - stopping off for fish and chips.

Orienteering 15:00 [3] 2.5 mi (6:00 / mi)

Hillsborough Park Sprint O. Good twisty turny course. Felt ok.

Run home from work then intervals - then 5 x 2.00 with 1 minute recovery.
