Running 2:40:00 [3] 23.0 mi (6:57 / mi)

Long run with Mike and Andy P around Derwent. Gorgeous day for it. Took it steady all the way round with the pace increasing slightly towards the end thanks to a strong running Mike.

Didn't take on too many carbs in the morning, and just took electrolyte on during the run and was pleased to feel strong throughout.

Run out to Dam Flask on a lovely day. Got into an altercation with a fisherman by the fisheries. "For fucks sake" he said as I waited patiently for him to remove the fishing pole from across the path - up to this point I hadn't said a word, would have jumped over the pole, but he had put his hands up and said "stop, stop". Had a debate about the merits of swearing at people for no reason and generally being a twat.

Run up to Myers Grove after dam flask and then did 10 x 100m strides.

Easy run up Rivelin Valley with some stretching.

Run to work; legs felt ok but calves still a little bit sore.

Running warm up/down 17:00 [2] 2.5 mi (6:48 / mi)

Warm up run from work to home. Stopped for a quick chat with Nails. Short warm down after the run.

Running 56:00 [4] 10.0 mi (5:36 / mi)

Threshold run from home out to Oughtibridge and then home again. I was aiming to run this around marathon pace, or just under. Was pleased with this. I had been dreading it before hand (was scared that I would struggle to make the pace) but felt really good the whole way. HR Av was 148 for whole run and went through 10k in 34:30. Good confidence builder.

Run down to Hallamshire and then a steady group run. Didn't realise quite how steady it was going to be but it was nice to run in a group for a bit and run up some trails. Did a bit more afterwards to get a bit more distance up.

Did not feel great this morning after the run (bit headachy and run down). Decided to cut this run short to try and recover a bit.

Run home via the hospital to see Ian (moved wards to Osbourne 3). He was in a wheelchair and looking sprightly. Calves still tight.

Easy run home from work, via the gym for some stretching. Both calves sore but other than that felt pretty good.
