Running 2:03:05 intensity: (32:50 @2) + (32:00 @3) + (29:30 @4) + (28:45 @5) 20.0 mi (6:09 / mi)

Long run from my parents' house. Worked out a 5 mile route and after a warm up did 4 laps, slowly picking up the pace. Great conditions and felt strong (but tired) at the end.

Got some weird looks from those doing gardening and who saw me in increasing levels of discomfort 4 times.

Hamstring was sore for first half but eased off by the end - hopefully won't be too bad tomorrow.

Running warm up/down 21:00 [2] 3.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

Easy warm up for 2 miles and then a slow 1 mile shuffle at the end.

Running 1:15:00 [3] 11.6 mi (6:28 / mi)

Steady run out from my parents. Very flat but quite enjoyable running around mainly deserted roads. Tried to catch Clare (who left 20 minutes before me) but never caught sight of her.

Running 18:00 [3] 2.5 mi (7:12 / mi)

Run to gym in the morning - legs ok. Gorgeous weather and nice and sunny - makes a massive difference from a month ago when I was running in the dark and the rain!

Running 51:00 intensity: (18:00 @2) + (33:00 @4) 8.5 mi (6:00 / mi)

All went a bit pear shaped this afternoon. Was meant to have gone running, bought some shoes ready to pick Clare up at 16.30ish. Ended up being 2 hours late owing to a meeting that took an extra 1.15 longer than expected at work and then the shoe buying taking a long time because I was playing with all the video toys / gait analysis stuff at the new accelerate shop (recommended).

Managed to squeeze in a running session nonetheless - 1.25 WU/WD then 33 minutes at tempo pace. Forgot how uncomfortable tempo runs were.

S+C 50:00 [3]

Gym with a newly shorn OJ.

Running 35:00 [3] 5.2 mi (6:44 / mi)

Easy run home from work. Legs felt ok but still a bit of referred pain in my hamstrings.

Wednesday Mar 11, 2009 #

Running 22:00 [2] 3.25 mi (6:46 / mi)

RTW - legs still sore but back ok.

Running 1:26:00 [3] 12.5 mi (6:53 / mi)

Evening run after work, out to Porter Valley then back through work on to Shiregreen and home.

Running 29:00 [2] 3.8 mi (7:38 / mi)

Early morning jog with Speaky. Ran around Loxley valley - very muddy.

Running 1:14:00 intensity: (47:30 @3) + (26:30 @4) 11.6 mi (6:23 / mi)

Saw Kim at lunch time and she released my glute (which was totally seized - she struggled to put the acupuncture needle in!).

Did some light intervals in the evening 5 x 1 mile at 5.30 pace with 1/2 mile recovery. Felt good - but my back started to stiffen up by the end (help I am turning into Tim Tett).

Running 35:00 [2] 5.2 mi (6:44 / mi)

RTW - hamstring really sore, so much so that it got hard to run by the end.

Running 47:00 [3] 7.2 mi (6:32 / mi)

Run home - legs much better after the monster stretching at lunchtime.

S+C 50:00 [3]

Strength session. Hamstring was not sore - sure that it was referred pain from a stiff back / glute.

Ended the session with some glute stretching - legs seemed to feel better for it.
