Orienteering 1:24:33 [4] 10.75 mi (7:52 / mi)

Burnham Beeches. Great event, forest and course. Legs felt good for the first 1k but after that I failed to get any real power and felt like I was lolloping rather than racing. Could tell I not been in terrain for a while - felt clumsy running downhill and jumping / ducking.

Orienteering needs to sharpen up a bit too! Really enjoyed it though.

Running 53:00 [2] 7.0 mi (7:34 / mi)

Warm up jog to the start and then a longer 6 mile warm down around the forest. Legs were tired by the end!

Running race 42:23 [5] 7.3 mi (5:48 / mi)

National cross country champs. The race report will read pretty much like it has done for the previous two years. Started ambitiously and paid the price later on. Tried to stay on Andy T's shoulder for the start to ensure that I started strongly, he in turn was chasing Rob Little, who started off like a rocket. Solid result (85th) but a bit disappointed - the course should have been right up my street.

Fantastic results by the girls and a solid result from the boys (11th) which we can be proud of. Not sure what the 9 person results are yet.

Amazing support throughout.

Running warm up/down 45:00 [2] 4.6 mi (9:47 / mi)

Long warm up - shorter warm down.

Running 22:30 [2] 3.25 mi (6:55 / mi)

Run to work. Hips feeling tight after doing yesterday's gym session.

Running 12:00 [5] 1.3 mi (9:14 / mi)

Intervals at de pentagon. Did 3 x 2.04 ish with 2 minutes ? (wasn't paying attention) recovery. Good stride out.

Running 49:00 [2] 7.2 mi (6:48 / mi)

Run to Hallamshire and then to session and then home. Had fish and chips for tea - nice.

Ran back from the clubhouse with Clare - who tripped over some grating on Hillsborough high street. Grazed legs and hips - ouch. Hopefully not too badly bruised.

Running 49:00 [2] 7.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

RFWTT and RFTTH (with the students)

Running 25:00 [5] 7.8 km (3:12 / km)

Track - had been expecting miles so was relieved to only have to do kms. We did 6 with 200m slow jog recovery. Felt sluggish to start with but got going as the session went on. Lots of jostling on the first few reps but it settled down for the last few. Times were; 3.05, 3.05, 3.06, 3.04, 3.03, 3.00.

Gym stuff. Felt ok today, introduced some split jump things to try and give my hip flexors a work out.
