Running 2:12:00 intensity: (1:47:00 @2) + (25:00 @4) 20.0 mi (6:36 / mi)

Long run with Pete and Candyman. Pete wanted a steady 13 miler so decided to do some intervals before hand and a fast mile and a half afterward to make up the distance. Felt slow to start with but got into it - 20 minutes of 90:30s, then from Pete's a long run out up Eckie road, Ringinglow, Crosspool and back and then a fast 1.5 mile home (sub 5.15 min miling) along Lansett road. Tired by the end but a good session mixing up some marathon specific training with some more sociable running.

Running race 38:10 [5] 6.6 mi (5:47 / mi)

Northern XC Champs. Tough but interesting course. Very muddy and although I was hoping to turn this to my advantage, truth be told, I felt better on the firmer, faster, footing. Started steady for first 1/4, picked off paces for next 1/2 and then kind of plateaued. Result was again an average one (43rd) - top 35 would have been better.

Top performance from the girls team and men's team showed real strength in depth.

Warm up and down with the lads. Was surprised by OJ's chirpiness before the race - v suspicious.

Running 15:00 [2] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

Woke up feeling really groggy and tired, with legs feeling a bit battered. I decided to force myself to go for a little jog interspersed with some stretching seemed to do the trick (that and the strong coffee I drank for breakfast).

Run to gym in the morning and then short run home. Legs felt really tired and sluggish on the run home.

Gym session with OJ. Not quite as grumpy as last week and we knocked out a decent session.

RTW - felt very tired this morning usual route took a bit longer than normal.

Running 59:30 intensity: (50:00 @2) + (9:30 @4) 8.0 mi (7:26 / mi)

Run to intervals and the session than home. Always good to a Thursday session before a race because it is always a bit shorter! Legs had perked up a bit this arvo.

Lonngggg day at work. Planning on doing 10miles but could only face 5. It was cold and wet and not very pleasant.

Run to work, run to track and then home. Biggest crowd on the run home for a long time. Spider bridge was open - good times.

Running intervals 24:00 [5] 4.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

4 x 1 miles (5.03, 5.04, 5.08, 5.08) with 50 seconds recovery. Tough session - it was pretty windy.

Felt strange without Ian - hopefully he will be back shouting us round the track soon.

Run to work, wet, windy and miserable.

Session at lunch time by myself. Got round the usual circuit.
