Northern XC Champs. Tough but interesting course. Very muddy and although I was hoping to turn this to my advantage, truth be told, I felt better on the firmer, faster, footing. Started steady for first 1/4, picked off paces for next 1/2 and then kind of plateaued. Result was again an average one (43rd) - top 35 would have been better.
Top performance from the girls team and men's team showed real strength in depth.

Warm up and down with the lads. Was surprised by OJ's chirpiness before the race - v suspicious.
Running 15:00 [2] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
Woke up feeling really groggy and tired, with legs feeling a bit battered. I decided to force myself to go for a little jog interspersed with some stretching seemed to do the trick (that and the strong coffee I drank for breakfast).
