Running 2:10:00 [2] 14.5 mi (8:58 / mi)
I turned to the electrician, who was giving us a quote for some work, and said "sorry about this but I think I am being kidnapped". About thirty people had crashed into our house to give to give Clare and I a surprise and belated stag / hen do. Once changed into some suitably nasty clothing I was whisked away into a fast tram / then bus, picking up some more people on the way.
First stop was the Little John, for a huge lunch, a Baker inspired crossword (fantastic) and a couple of nasty (Tabasco filled) pints - thanks RandyS. Then on to a quarry in Burbage to run a couple of Palmer challenges - with a drink before each one - pint of beer (gaseous but good), choco milk (yum) and some energy drink (sticky and sweet). Unsurprisingly I lost every challenge. From the quarry it was on to the Fox House for more beers. The pace crept up on the way to the Norfolk arms and stomach was feeling decidedly dodgy. Luckily the whisky chaser and beer sorted me out - honest.
From Norfolk Arms we headed to the the Sportsman. Chappers had an amazing shortcut that he discussed at length at the next stop. Nails is not learning anything about brown nosing as he carried Candyman's pint with him from the NAs, which Candyman had "forgotten" about. Had my first (and last) ever yard, then we ran onto the Shiny Shef and home.
By the time we reached home I was a little bit tipsy and my memory of the rest of the evening is a bit of blur.....curry (hot), cocktails (nice), girls / wifes (hot), beer (nice), dancing (stumbling). Tim found time for a nap.
Top night out, think I have drunk all of my January and most of February's beer allowance. Thanks everyone for all the fun - special mentions to OJ and Ant and for everyone who traveled up / down to join in the fun.
