Running (Long Run) 1:34:46 [3] 15.16 mi (6:15 / mi)

Run around Derwent reservoir, with Andy Thake. First time I had run along most of this route and I can see why most people doing marathon training recommend it; mostly on good trails, with some undulations and "relatively" flat. Tried to get as many marathon running tips as possible from Andy, before he gets caught up in nappies and baby puke...

Run from Burbage Bridge; around the Sheepdog trial route with a couple of extra miles in Longshaw. Didn't want to go to the start otherwise I would have ended up starting and I don't feel like I need another race at the moment.

Oli was leading Craney both times I saw him; looks like Craney was just waiting to make his move......

Pacier run home, past railway station and then through Kelham Island home. Didn't feel very comfortable at all and I was glad to have finished!

Run up to, yes you guessed it, Damflask. Did a pacier middle section trying to keep under 6 minute per mile pace. This road running mlarky is proving to be hard work - starting to crave some nice hill running.

Running intervals (VO2 Session) 30:00 [5] 7.6 km (3:57 / km)

5 x 1200m with 400m (2 minute) jog recovery. Went for an illicit track session; but bumped into Kathy and Rick O'Toole who both had similar ideas.
Ran them all in under 3.42 (aiming for roughly 3.45). Going back to 4 x 1600m with 1 minutes recovery is going to be tough!

To track and back - really struggling on the way home.

Early morning recovery run around the Valley.

Planned on going running at lunchtime but realised that I had left my shirt at home - buff as I am, I don't think work and Sheffield is ready for me running topless - so gave running a miss until I got home from work.

Ran up Loxley till the fisheries and then explored some new paths.

Monday Aug 25, 2008 #

(rest day)

After a pretty good 2 weeks going to have a complete rest today. Legs are a little sore after yesterday - but not ridiculously so. Felt worse at about 20.00 last night (or maybe that was just the pain of wathing Run Fatboy Run).

Nice mini break of a weekend - good to catch up with the Family Squire and check out some of my old haunts.
