National cross country. Felt pretty nervous / excited on the morning of the race - knew I was in good shape and wanted to improve on my position of last year (87th) but that the competition would be tougher as the venue was so central.I know you shouldn't set goals that you have no controls over, but I couldn't get away from the fact that I wanted my result to improve!
Really pleased with my overall result - 69th - but my race was by no means perfect.
I started really strongly and was up in 46 - 48 th about half way round. I then proceeded to die a horrible death and just tried to hang on for last 15 minutes. Not pleasant, but effective on this occasion!
