Orienteering race 30:00 [5]

Senior Homes relay. Fun, enjoyable (but steep and tough) courses. Spent most of my time trying to reel Ant Squire in (after a mistake on number 3) and staying ahead of Nails (after he made a mistake on a different number 3). Succeeded on the former but failed on the latter.

Felt ok running but still had no zip - lungs fine with my legs the limiting factors.

Orienteering race 1:18:00 [5]

SHI individuals. Had not been thinking about this race at all during the week - normally a sign of a bad run looming - but actually was pretty pleased with my orienteering. Two small misses (of 1 minute each) and maybe a couple more on route choice.

Was not running at the same speed as the top 3 - legs just not up for terrain running at the moment.

Pleased to score for England.

Travel to the Brecon Beacons with Mike S et al. Fun journey listening to pearls of wisdom from the curmudgeon that is Dr Nails.

Running 1:15:00 [3]

Run to Hallamshire and then farlek with the boys. This involved mainly running up hill. Good session and we stayed roughly all together. Need to start wearing more reflective kit - we all looked like burglars today. Al challenged me to a run up Heroes at the end - forgotten how tough it was.

Cross training 25:00 [3]

Legs and bums for 30 minutes before weights.

S+C 30:00 [3]

Squats (front, back, single leg) + physio exercises. Felt ok - tried to focus on technique.

Running 45:00 [3]

Run to and back from track. Started to rain as soon as I stood outside the office for the first time.

Running intervals 25:00 [5]

1x1700, 1x1600, 1x1500, 1x1000 with 1 minute recovery. Tried to stay on track for 5 minute milling pace - managed it for all but the 1500 effort.

S+C 1:00:00 [3]

Pilates session at S10. I was again the only bloke - but managed to get there on time this week. Definitely felt that I was working better, but could get a lot stronger.
