Eureka - How they used to train

When I was a young boy of about 13 years old I came across a pamphlet which had details about the training schedules of the British Squad members. I remember reading it in awe, learning about the training of Stan Hale, Andy, Jon, Yvette, Tim T (he wanted a coach) & even Jase (I remember he liked a bit of babminton). I thought it was brilliant and I dreamed about training like seniors when I "grew up."

I lost the booklet (sold to raise money for the squad) and tried to track down a copy a couple of years ago without success. I was talking to Ian Wainwright about it recently and he said that he was the one who put it together! He has passed me a photocopy of the original which I have scanned an uploaded for everyone to read in all its glory. Life must be different now when juniors can follow seniors' exploits on AP but I still think it provides an interesting snap shot into the thoughts and approaches of different Squadies.

The document is here.

Running 35:00 [1] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi)

Working from home in the morning so nipped out at lunchtime up Rivelin. Just did a short loop but felt great, could have gone on and on today. Bumped into Dr Thake on his way out for a mammouth cycle ride.
