O in The Oaks, Pacheco Stae Park - South of San Jose CA - Long
An early start and quite the walk and climb to the start - so well warmed up but still feeling a weak hamstring in my left leg. Interesting as there was some mist on the top so long visibility was not very good for the first few controls, still it meant it was not too hot. Hesitant for the first control, then decided to contour for the second and almost made a 90 deg error thinking I was at the second path - probably should have taken the path instaed wevn with the extra climb. Saw Bruce Wolfe just ahead after 4, he went low and I headed up to the path - a slight error at the end, so I reckon both options were pretty much even. Brutal climbs to both 6 and 7. Orienteering not too technical if reading contours carefully, but fitness definitely not up to such a physical course - walked alot.
Fastest time Steve Gregg BAOC 1.07

Took Alisa up for a quick tour of San Fransico picking up the main sights

A-Meet_ BAOC - O in The Oaks - Pacheco State Park - Middle (s of San Jose CA)
Mainly open rough terrain with steep hillside and some areas of oak trees. had a pretty clean run. Lost time due to fitness on the steep climdb from 6-7 then loat 25 seconds at 11 going to the wrong tree copse. Felt overall pretty good considering the lack of fitness.

Walked around Stanford's campus with heather and Alisa. Had an interesting dinner in a place near Philippa's then watched an interesting DVD about someone walking the length of Japan.

BAOC - "O in The Oaks" Sprint - Casa de Fruta s of San Jose
Worked through the night before heading off to the airport at 4.00am. Heather, I and Alisa flow out to San Jose and met up with Alison.

Sprint race around the Casa de Fruta park/campsite. Pushed hard, with a couple of bubbles especially near then - only to discover I had missed going to number 11 - I guess the lack of sleep caught up with me.
