NavX course at Las Trampas. Total disaster. Forgot just how steep and rough Las Trampas is. Tried to go to the second control cross country, because I didn't want to go all the way down to the trail.
Lots of PO. Was climbing up steep narrow animal trail next to a steep reentrant. Lost my footing and slid down 12-15 feet into a steep reentrant on my butt and back. Landed on my feet, but gouged a couple of big divots of skin off of my left elbow. Really scared. Fortunately didn't hit my head or break any bones. Made my way down the reentrant until I found a place to climb out and then down a spur to the trail. Aborted the event and went back to my car. Left arm very bloody and dirty. I called Rebecca and told her I need a nurse. Picked up some first aid supplies, and then she cleaned out the wound pretty well. Went home, and showered, but didn't use Tecnu because of all the scrapes and cuts, in addition to the 2 large wounds. Bandaged the wounds. Managed to see my doctor on Monday, and at that time it looked better. The wounds seem to be healing pretty well. However, the big problem is poison oak. Keeping it under reasonable control with a steroid cream. Left forearm slightly swollen and red. I don't think it is infected, but more likely allergic, probably from the PO.
