Orienteering race (Sprint Canberra - Race #1) 16:57 [5] 4.0 km (4:14 / km)

At the AIS. Came 2nd, 4s behind Lachy. Had a pretty good run, avoiding getting caught in any traps and only minor hesitations. Maybe chose the 2nd best option when faced with a L/R choice a few times. Felt reasonably good running-wise and enjoyed myself.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)

Orienteering race (Twilight - Ainslie Nth) 30:40 [4] 6.0 km (5:07 / km)

7 races in 8 days will be a bit of a rude awakening from a couple of months of slumber. The first was a fun control picky type course in the bush. Very rusty - direction all over the shop on a few controls and struggling to move in the terrain. Still, got to start somewhere if I want to be competitive by Easter (which I do).

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Running 46:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:36 / km)

From Callum Brae and home via Mugga and Davo - pretty much got this route down now into a goodun. 4 wedge-tailed eagles circling above me in Mugga, which was nice.

Running 40:00 [3] 9.0 km (4:27 / km)

Morning run up Red Hill this time (rather than Davo, which was the norm for last week). I'll be getting pretty good at 40-60min steady runs if I keep going like this.

Running 1:03:00 [3] 13.0 km (4:51 / km)

Nice run from Hall to One Tree Hill on the centenary trail, with a bit of an extension to meet the point I'd got to coming from the other direction in Forde a few months ago. Quite warm and sunny, but nowhere near as horrendous as the last few days. Then had a BLT, lemonade and coffee from the cafe in Hall.

Running 53:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:49 / km)

Very early run for a weekend but, again, good to avoid the heat of later in the day. Gracie and I parked up at Redders and I ran home via Mugga and the Brae.

Running 40:00 [3] 9.0 km (4:27 / km)

Made it out early again today though - well worth it, as I got a lovely 15degrees instead of the 41 forecast for later. Usual Davo loop for the 3rd time this week - also the fastest (although all were running comfortably so doesn't mean much). Sky seemed especially clear today - very good for seeing a long way from the summit.
