Another beautiful morning. I really only had problems on one control that cost me some time. This area was not as wet but interesting subtle terrain. One thing I noticed this morning was my recovery was really good from the long weekend in the woods, maybe it was the lower intensity, but the volume was there and I actually felt best today, even on about 15 hours of sleep over the past three nights.

Had time for a quick two mile run before the kids soccer games. It felt good to run without shoes again...go figure...

Vetting Saturday courses for the Flying Pig. I was very tired and the "trails" were awful. I really only made one mistake, and since it was on a map I had not seen yet, it was good practice. I ran as much as I could but was pretty tired after 90 minutes or so. A great morning to be in the woods, sunny, cold, and lots of turkey calling...

Ran the first 2.5 miles with Heidi, the first 2.5 miles was fairly rough pavement and the next 1.5 miles was very rough, with miles 4-7 being new asphalt, and the final mile rough. I really lost a lot of fluid, and it was pretty hot, even for getting back from Florida.

So far the best I can estimate is for the same average HR, my pace barefoot is about 2 min. slower per mile barefoot. I suspect that will change, as my concentration level is higher barefoot and my form is just now becoming my adopted form
