Relay with Ben and Bronwyn (Toby and Imogene Scott's mum). Classic woodhill today and I could see a long way which really made a difference. Felt like I could orienteer at my maximum running pace. Slight wobble on 7 but otherwise pretty clean, was on my own.

Woodhill but a bit different, mainly just one slope with hundred and hundred of little gullies. Was trying to be really careful at the start but really lost it a 3, had to go out to a track because I really had no idea. Jenny and Clair caught me here so ran with them for a while but then I started to get into it in the second half and flowed much better so ran away from them. Another really fun day - went in up to my knees at Muriwai beach and had a delicious NZ mixed berry yogurt ice cream.

Awesome course and great terrain. Clearly I am not fit and there was so much up and down over sand dunes which became exhausting and hurt my not used to it calves a lot. Really fun!

We were very very late for the quarantine but noone cared. Did a small warm up on a model map, it was the perfect way to get my mind on orienteering. Made quite a few mistakes, partly because the map had double levels and I was not very good at working this out so was always looking for the controls on ground level. I won a split which is crazy.

No warm down as got quarantined for drug testing (I didnt get tested) and then had to rush off to make it to the movies in time to see hunger games. Good movie (apart from the dog monster thing).

Training with Erica, disappointed when I measured how far we went on google maps. A bit hilly but otherwise we are really just plodding. The last 5k felt hard today and next time I really need to take some water with me. We were both very quite today. Also late for work so might have to start a bit early (or on time...)
